Özet

Profesyonel sporcularda ilaç kullanımı, yaralanmaların tedavisinde önemli bir araç olsa da, bazı ilaçların performans artırıcı veya estetik amaçlarla kötüye kullanımı endişe yaratmaktadır. Bu noktada eczacılar, ilaç güvenliğini sağlayarak farmasötik bakım sürecine katkı sunar. Farmasötik bakım; ilaçların akılcı kullanımını teşvik eden, birey ve toplum sağlığını gözeten multidisipliner bir yaklaşımdır. Son yıllarda, sporcularda bitkisel takviye kullanımında önemli bir artış gözlenmiştir. Bitkisel ürünler; antioksidan, anti-inflamatuar ve performans artırıcı etkileri nedeniyle yaygın kullanılmakta, ancak etkinlik ve güvenilirlikleri her zaman bilimsel olarak kanıtlanmamıştır. Ginseng, kafein ve efedrin gibi bazı bileşikler merkezi sinir sistemi üzerinde uyarıcı etki göstererek kas performansını desteklemektedir. Ancak, bu ürünlerin bazıları doping riski taşıyabilmekte veya sporcu sağlığı üzerinde olumsuz etkilere neden olabilmektedir. Bu nedenle, bitkisel takviyelerin bilinçli, uzman rehberliğinde ve güvenli dozlarda kullanımı büyük önem taşımaktadır. Klinik eczacılar, spor alanında bu süreci yönlendirebilecek kilit sağlık profesyonelleri arasında yer almaktadır.
